"Bad Tips" Demo in Progress PDF Print E-mail

A few weeks ago, I went to my buddy Drew's apartment in Boston to record a couple tracks so Mr. Bassist and Mr. Drummer could have my magnificent riffs and vocals on demand.  Just the other day, I received the first track.  Added to it is a drum loop for an added feel.  Check it out below and tell me what you think.  I'm looking to do a little something different for the bridge... some vocals and at least a bass lead.

The name of the song is "Bad Tips".  It's about a rise in self esteem, self help, and how the girl who inspired it became just another brick in the wall.

If you can think of any little things I can change, add, or otherwise ... comment below or on my Facebook wall.  Whichever you prefer.

You may be thinking... "What?  You really even haven't started yet..."  And you would be absolutely right.  We are a band on paper... we get radio campaigns before we have gigs.  It's backwards from Indie music today.  We aren't an indie band.  Our intentions reach beyond Indie into that much more.

However, things were really picking up.  We have new members with more than one practice underneath their belts.  We picked up an editor, and he is ready, able, and willing to sign on with us.  (Contact us if you want his information - he's educated and moderately priced.)  We have formed our band member and confidentiality agreements.  I have over a dozen songs to go through and get down.  The things is...

We're all busy.  Shawn is buying a house, heavily involved with the realtors.  Adam is "overloading" at WPI, so he won't be available until May.  It sucks, basically.  No time to practice, no time for small gigs.  I do have some good news.

All time is not wasted complete.  I'll be a STAGE MANAGER for the Wu-Tang Harlem 6.  I'll not only get experience every show, but I'll also get free food, hotel, and money money money.  I was offered 500 a show.  That's unethical (I was only expecting that in a whole week), so I'm talking AGR of Entaprise down to 250.  I'll be helping manage the multimedia and merchandise from the tour, as well.  It's a good deal.

In the mean time, I'm going to my buddy's house in Boston, paying him 100 bucks, and recording all my guitar tracks for a demo and so that the rest of the band can practice on their own time while I'm away.  You gotta do what ya gotta do.

Peace.

I Just Got This Idea... PDF Print E-mail

What crazy rocker dude doesn't think about getting famous?

My strategy is to hit up as many markets as possible.  As my radio campaign will be taking off, I will be going on tour, and as I'm on tour, we are going to be creating and virally marketing YouTube videos.  I've got so many ideas, but the point of it is to create a wacky "Candid Camera" scenario and watch people's reactions.

Ideas!  Here we go...

  • Pay a bum to eat a Klondike Bar.  What would you do for 10 dollars?
  • Work out very loudly on the streets of a city in ridiculous work-out gear.
  • Bless people on the streets wearing priests outfits.
  • Wear masks and have a contest to give candy to strangers.  The band member with the most people eating his candy wins.
  • Bribe a female to tattoo "Devin was here... many times." across her back or stomach or neck... I don't care where, just it would be awesome.
  • Interview children on national politics.
  • "Mosh For Charity" - We will rock out for $5/min and give it to...if don't know... locks of love or someone.
Should we do it?  Any more ideas?  Contact us.

Possible New Bassist PDF Print E-mail

Looks like David the bassist has decided to not call or return my calls for over a few months now.  In my opinion, that means he quits.  Fortunately for me, bassists are a dime a dozen where I went to school.  But wait... what's this???  Someone who doesn't go to my school wants in?  Yes indeed - he's my co-worker at Weld Engineering, also founder of PeachTree Candids and All Inclusive Links.

Welcome to the floor...

Shawn Petrie

I'll be recording my guitar parts for him, so he can learn the songs and create his own riffs over the next few months.  He's moving out of his apartment and moving into a new house where we can practice!  He'll be signing on officially in a little over a month once he is all settled in with his kick*rse ranch house (in a very nice hood of neighbors).

Looking For A New Drummer PDF Print E-mail

Priests of Reality is looking for a new drummer.  The process is intense.  We don't expect to find the perfect drummer, but we can hope.

Form not found

Things We Look For:

We are looking for is someone who is tolerant to both Christian and secular culture.  You may or may not be a Christian, but you should be clean cut.  Otherwise, you may find yourself not a member of the band, but only a sub-contracted drummer.  This is fine if you only want the experience and a few bucks.  However, we would love to have a permanent drummer with all the bells and whistles

A permanent drummer must be able to uphold the clean image of the band - not getting into anything considerably "taboo" such as illegal drug use and picking up vanerial diseases while on tour.  On the other hand, a clean cut, goodie-tooshoo, extremely sheltered individual may not be cut out for the life of a famous rock group - which this group will try harder than anyone to become while keeping our values.  This can be considered pre-evangelistic music, and therefore we will have to play secular events where our peers will be doing things like cocaine and multiple women.

We prefer someone who is a thinker like David and Devin.  Someone who is afraid of thinking will be replaced.  We prefer someone who is able to participate wherever.  Someone who is afraid to work hard will be replaced.  Creativity is a must.  Someone who "falls back" too often will be replaced.  Fill, roll, and go with the flow.

We prefer someone who lives in Worcester or has a drumset in Worcester.  Gas is still expensive.  We will play a lot of shows at WPI, as we have an "in" with the music booking teams.

We would love to have someone with experience with another rock group but at the same time does not feel tied into another music group.  This is how we lost the last drummer.

If not all these options can be fufilled, and we like you, we will make arrangements to make sure you fit the bill.
